Our story

We benefit from a research partnership with .NeuroRestore, a collaboration between the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) and Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) that develops and applies bioengineering and neurosurgical strategies to restore neurological functions, particularly those impacted by paralysis.

We also collaborate with other leading research and clinical institutions, such as those that participated in the Up-LIFT pivotal trial and other studies.

We have exclusively licensed intellectual property developed at many leading global neuroscience research institutions, such as the University of Louisville and Caltech.

Meet Two of Our Co-Founders

    • G Courtine, PhD

      Groundbreaking neuroscientist and winner of the IET A. F. Harvey Engineering Research Prize, the Rolex Award, the Schellenberg Research Prize, the Leenaards Foundation Science Prize, and the Chancellor’s Award from the University of California. Full Professor of Neuroscience and Neurotechnology at EPFL and Director of .NeuroRestore. Holds a PhD in Neurosciences from INSERM Paris, and a PhD in Experimental Medicine from the University of Pavia, Italy.

    • Jocelyne Bloch, MD

      Celebrated neurosurgeon and winner of the Tasker and Leenaards Prizes for her contribution to research and innovation in the field of neuromodulation. Head of the Department of Functional Neurosurgery at CHUV. Full Professor of Neurosurgery at EPFL and Associate Professor at the University of Lausanne. Director of .NeuroRestore.
